About
Fit Lab 253

The Fit Lab 253

The Fit Lab 253 was founded in 2001 by Lianne Hall, originally named The Pilates Body Movement Studio. What began as a small Pilates-focused studio grew into a thriving fitness community serving Gig Harbor and the surrounding areas for over two decades.

In 2017, the studio was remodeled and rebranded as The Fit Lab 253, expanding beyond Pilates to include a wider variety of fitness classes and becoming a true one-stop fitness destination for the community.

After 21 incredible years at our Wollochet location, a significant rent increase led us to reimagine the future of the studio. Our community’s loyalty and support over the years inspired the next chapter.

In March 2024, The Fit Lab transitioned into a boutique home studio located in Canterwood, allowing Lianne to return to her original passion—Pilates taught in a more personal, focused setting.

Today the studio operates from a 1,000-square-foot private space designed specifically for individualized instruction. This intimate environment allows clients to receive the highest level of attention, guidance, and support.

The boutique studio specializes in:

  • Private Pilates sessions

  • Duet sessions

  • Small Group sessions

Each session is tailored to the client’s individual goals—whether improving strength, increasing flexibility, recovering from injury, or enhancing overall wellness.

The studio includes a separate private entrance, bathroom, and changing area, creating a comfortable and discreet environment where clients can focus fully on their movement and health.

Returning to Pilates’ original concept of small, personalized instruction, The Fit Lab 253 continues its mission of helping clients build strength, improve posture, and develop a deeper mind-body connection.

While the private studio focuses on Pilates training, group classes are still offered in the community, including:

  • Pilates Mat – Mondays at Dance Ally

  • Barre – Wednesdays at Dance Ally

After more than 25 years of teaching, Lianne remains passionate about helping clients move better, feel stronger, and live healthier lives through Pilates.

Lianne G.

Owner & BASI Pilates Faculty Teacher Trainer

Lianne  began her career at age 17 as a professional dancer. After dancing throughout the states and overseas, she found herself injured from the physical demands of her job. Frustrated with traditional therapy, she took the advice of other dancers and tried Pilates to rehabilitate her body. The success she found through the Pilates method feeds her desire to teach others Lianne has taught classes throughout the U.S. including the “Luxor” dancers in Las Vegas and conditioning the dancers for the 2000 Super Bowl in Atlanta.

Today she strives to aid others in reaching their own goals. Whether your goal is physical fitness or rehabilitation the Pilates Body Movement Studio is the place that encompasses it all.

Stacy P.

Pilates Instructor

Stacy discovered Pilates in 2008 when seeking a way to recover from a knee injury. After recovering from her injury she returned to her traditional gym workouts for several years and often found herself with some kind of injury resulting from her workouts. In 2016 Stacy tried a contemporary faster paced “fit Pilates” class and was hooked on Pilates for good. She eventually came to love and appreciate all things Pilates, classical and contemporary. In 2019, she completed her Basi Pilates Certification and now enjoys teaching and introducing her love for Pilates to others.

When not teaching or practicing Pilates, Stacy is busy with her four kids and her fifth, husband and high school sweetheart Marty. She enjoys cooking, the latest heath and lifestyle books, water skiing, walking, good coffee, farmers markets, and anything with her family.
